BT just cannot get it right

As you may know I’ve been paying £68.50 per month for Broadband with BT, which is outrageous. I emailed them about it again on November 1st with the following:

I see I’ve just been debited another £68.50 for my broadband service. This has to be the most expensive broadband available on the market today. Much more than the service was originally sold to me at.

I’d suggest you reduce this monthly payment to what it should be or I’ll cancel my contract and go with Vodafone.

18 days later and they still haven’t bothered to reply. Furthermore I received a letter from BT billing to my OLD address in Wales saying I was £25.06 in credit.

I can’t frickin’ believe this. These idiots know I have moved. They fitted my bastard phone line! I’ve had enough, so emailed them about that today:

Account Number: GB*******
Bill Reference: GB*******

I have already told you of my change of address, you have sent me correspondance there, yet for some reason you sent this bill to my old address saying I was £25.06 in credit! I am not surprised by this basic error on your part. I have tried for the last few months to get my direct debit for broadband down from £68 to what it should be, £33, yet you can’t seem able to do that either.

My address is NOT

190 ****

It is, as you well know:

17 ****

Recredit my account with the £25.06 and reduce my direct debit or I will leave BT. I cannot tolerate this incompetance any further.

Please call me if you like on ******

Regards

A soon to be ex BT customer
Mr Jamieson

Again I doubt they’ll reply. I also forwarded my previous email back to the broadband department for them to answer as they’ve ignored it since November 1st. I have incidentally been chasing the reduction of this bill for months, as you can probably imagine.

Well, the direct debit is due on December 1st. If I don’t get confirmation of its reduction before then I will cancel it. I’m not tolerating incompetence like this any more.

Mr Daz is caught speeding

I’ve had a speeding ticket!

Can you believe that, a frickin’ speeding ticket??? This was done the day I took my friend down for his mother’s funeral from Leeds to Hereford, and we were going some on the way if you remember the blog. However this was on the way back, and I was only doing 57mph!!!

What a disgrace.

Apparently there were temporary road works as I was clocked at the spectacular speed of 57mph at 25 to midnight on a Thursday night. Bastards.

What makes it worse is, as you can see from the photos, the letter was tampered with. My ex-wife has defied a court order and removed my property from my house again, even after being warned by the judge for doing it before, AND opened the letter. She’s taken the letter from my house, opened it (because it looked juicy no doubt) resealed it and forwarded it to me in Manchester.

Now, I have my father go to the house for my post, but there hasn’t been much for him to get as she’s been stealing it for months. I’m supposed to reply to this speeding fine within 28 days, but my reply was sent as soon as I received this and still it will be late.

Bitch.

RSA Payout!!!

After 16 months of trying, and some considerable blame dodging from RSA, I have finally had a cheque from Royal & SunAlliance to compensate me for the items stolen from my car.

Why did this take 16 months? Who knows. Anyway, my car has today been picked up again and taken to BMW Hanforth, where hopefully they’ll be able to put right what once went wrong in a Sam Beckett sort of way.

Here’s a photo of me with the cheque. You can feel my sense of disbelief that this has all happened.

Want to cheat on your wife?

I noticed the following Adsense Ad on MrDaz.com today, though I can’t for the life of me work out what prompted Google to place this one here.

Married

Naturally the advert intrigued me to check out the website illicitencounters.com. It seems to be a dating website for married men and women who fancy cheating on their partners with some uncomplicated extra-marital sex. What a concept!

Basically married people list themselves on the website much like any normal dating website, except rather than looking for life partners, relationships or any such crap, they just want sex. They’re bored with their marriage and want some excitement in their lives. This 26 year old girl from Manchester is one such bored housewife.

I do hope that her husband isn’t also listed on the site. Imagine the potential for comedy!

What I particularly like is the disclaimer at the bottom of each page:

Warning: not everyone is suited to having an affair. They are not an alternative to working on or ending a marriage. Not all affairs have a positive effect on a marriage, some can be very damaging. Always consider other people and if you are going to have an affair, please select your partner wisely.

That’s just genius. Not all affairs have a positive effect on a marriage? Who could have guessed that?

Illicit Encounters

I think I might sign up. I’m not married but what the heck?!?

Video Conferencing with AccuConference

Having to communicate with recently with friends in different parts of Europe over the web I’ve had to rely on MSN and Skype. Skype tends to freeze the camera and has a very poor image quality whereas MSN Messenger is temperamental, crashes and often won’t connect.

Neither can really be relied upon for communicating with friends, let alone for business. A more reliable and professional solution would be a Video Conferencing application such as AccuConference. They offer video conferencing for as little as 15 cents per minute

Video Conferencing

If you’d like a demo of the service they can arrange one for you, plus they also recommend a selection of hardware peripherals you could use with their system.

The main advantage with video conferencing is that you can save time and money on travel times to and from your meeting, and of course never worry about forgetting to take any information or equipment with you. If your meeting is in Germany and you’re in San Francisco, that’s quite a saving of time and money!

For those of you out there, like myself, that always look at a site like this and think; how could that make me money? Well, they’ve also got an affiliate scheme with 3 separate methods of earning revenue. The best in my opinion being the first method which earns you 5% of your referred customer’s monthly spend.

RSA said they couldn’t be bothered to pick my car up

I just spoke to Deborah again at Royal & SunAlliance and asked why my car hadn’t been picked up last night. Well, she did what all RSA employees do and apologised to me again.

*sigh*

She said she left a message for one of her colleagues to call the recovery firm last evening at 5:30 to arrange the pick up of my car, but they didn’t bother. She had no excuse, just that they hadn’t done it.

I suppose that’s refreshing in itself, if not still annoying. I told her I wasn’t surprised as I had been waiting 16 months (coming up for 17 months now) for my car to be fixed so I didn’t really expect them to turn up. She had now arranged for my car to be picked up Saturday between 10:00am and 11:00am.

Place your bets now.

Google Adsense makes it harder to click

As John Chow correctly reported earlier this week, Google have were planning to make a fundamental change to the way their Adsense ads are clicked. Well now they have.

Adsense Click Areas

As you can see from the diagram Google have reduced the clickable area from the whole ad, to just the Title and the URL. This, they say, will help prevent accidental clicks.

Of course what it will do is reduce my revenue. I’m already considering ditching Adsense on certain websites, despite the increased revenue I enjoyed recently.

You can read Google’s explanation for this on their official blog.

RSA Fail again

Would you Adam and Eve it? Deborah from Royal & SunAlliance assured me today that their recovery team would show up this evening to pick up my car and take it to BMW Stockport to be quoted on, and subsequently repaired. I was told that they’d be at my house some time after 6:00pm.

Guess what? That’s right, despite me waiting in all night they never showed up. Further more I never received a call explaining why, or even letting me know they wouldn’t show up.

I guess I can’t be surprised at this as after all RSA have let me down continuously for 16 months. I suppose I just naively expected them to actually do what they claimed they would this time.

Maybe they’ll have answers tomorrow as to why no one bothered to show up, despite me waiting for them. Maybe they’ll have answers as to why no one called me, despite me waiting for them. Maybe they’ll have answers as to why my car hasn’t been fixed when it’s now November 15th 2007 and it was originally stolen in July 2006.

I doubt it, but we’ll keep on persevering eh?

So much anger, so little time
