Microsoft’s Live video search previews the videos

As shown by the SEO Ninjas yesterday Microsoft’s new Live Video search isn’t half bad. In fact anything that enables you to watch more than one video clip of me on a single page is genius in my book.

Check out the link and see how many times you can spot me among the clips. If you roll over them, you can watch them direct. It’s like a dream come true isn’t it?

Dmoz editor looks at MrDaz.com

Checking my stats today I noticed that someone has visited my site from within the editor logs on Dmoz. Not sure why this, maybe they’re considering my site for inclusion? I highly doubt that mind you, I’m not the kind of site they include. By that I mean I’m not a Dmoz editor so can’t backslap anyone for a listing.

If you’re reading this Mr Dmoz editor (probably Jim Noble, as you’re using Firefox on a Mac and you’re UK based) – piss off, I don’t want to be listed in your shitty site.

Bet 365.com

Sponsored Review

Who’d have thought that Wales, Grand Slam winners 2 years ago, would crash out of the World Cup so spectacularly yesterday to Fiji? Being Welsh this was something of a downer, but I imagine a few people made some money on the game through betting with the odds stacked against Fiji.

I’ve tried this myself many times by betting on Champions League games and Premiership matches, but usually lose out. Using a site like 365.com makes this all very easy though. With services like online poker you don’t just need to know about which team is likely to beat which other team, though let’s face it your money’s probably safe if you stick it all on New Zealand to win the Rugby World Cup (just don’t blame me if they lose to Ireland in the quarter final!).

The real money of course in betting on Football matches is betting on the first scorer or correct score finishes. You can even set up your own accumulator bets without having to stroll down the bookies and listen to all those drunk old geezers telling you how they’ve inside tips on the horses.

I’ve used online betting sites like this for a few years now, with varying degrees of success. I did win betting on Liverpool’s champions league success in 2005 – but then lost in 2007. That Milan goal was blatantly hand ball.

Google says YES to cloaking

Doug the Ninja of the SEO Ninjas has found an interesting discovery on Google. It seems the boys from the G are allowing sites to advertise with them under their Adwords program for the term SEO, and all they do is build doorway pages and cloaking pages for their clients.

What this means is the website Google is promoting is in direct violation of their webmaster guidelines. Sounds like a little bit of hypocrisy to me.

Banned from the Skyline Owners forum

I tried to communicate with the Skyline Owners Forum people at their forum but sadly received this message after trying to post:

You have been banned for the following reason:
Cock sucker.

Date the ban will be lifted: Never

Which to be honest is quite amusing. I also tried to explain to the seemingly backward thinking people that posting up someone’s contact details and prompting others to make threatening phone calls is illegal, as has already happened on saxperience last year, and this was the reply:

Here is another suggestion, why don’t you shut the **** up you sad pathetic little prick. Do you honestly think for one second that the threat of Police or approaching th hosting company gives any weight to anything you say?

Honestly, they will take you about as seriously as when your girlfriend says “It doesn’t matter, it happens to ALL men”

Nothing illegal has been said or done, in fact, you are more likely to be done for supporting defamation through your website, so I suggest you shut the fuk up and piss off back to your cave you hobbit.

Can’t say I didn’t try. Mind you I do seem to bring this on myself as some of the sites I run depend on this kind of controversy. If it weren’t for morons like this I wouldn’t be as successful as I am now.

Thanks Skyline Owners Forum. You guys are a real hoot.

USB Nerd launches

Being the kind of person to buy domain names and do very little with them (you’d be amazed if you knew how many I had, at least it’s all offset against tax!) it gives me great pleasure to reveal I’ve actually done something with one such domain.

Drum roll please… after many months deciding what to do with it, and indeed pondering the wisdom of buying it in the first place I have finally worked out what to do with the domain name: http://www.usbnerd.com.

Yes, yes. I know, it’s a bit geeky. In fact, it would have been very geeky if usbgeek.com hadn’t already been registered.

What have I done with the site? Head over and have a look. It is the first of what I hope will be many niche targeted shopping sites in my cannon of websites, focusing on the Geek delights of USB Gadgets.

I’ve pissed off another car website

If you remember last year I managed to piss off the wankers at saxperience.com when some Nottingham based chav twat named Jezpick telephoned me and threatened to ‘fuck me up’.

Here’s Jezpick in case you’re wondering just how scared I was at this monkey.

Jezpick

Naturally the little cock sucker wouldn’t reply to me when I contacted him back, and I’m still waiting now.

This time however it seems I’ve managed to piss off a Nissan Skyline website. How? Same old same old. When Jezpick was outraged it was because my website Your Car Is Shit was taking the royal piss out of Citroen Saxos, and quite rightly too – they’re shit. This time someone has uploaded a Nissan Skyline, which has pissed off the wankers at skylineowners.com.

Now, I’m not saying they’re all wankers. I’m sure some of them are quite nice people. But why can’t they realise that just because someone has uploaded a photo of a Skyline to a shit car website, it doesn’t mean the owner of the website thinks their car is shit. In fact, Skylines are decent cars. Wouldn’t drive one myself mind, bit boy racer like, but they are decent.

Yet, these stupid tosspots once again seem hell bent on posting my name, address and phone number and then phoning me up and refusing to speak when I answer. Here’s the thread. I’ve also saved it for posterity, giggles, evidence – call it what you will.

I notice too that the admin has deleted some aspects of the thread, not before I grabbed it of course. He needs to be careful there, could get in some serious trouble. Some of the shit that was posted on his website was highly illegal. Probably wants to remove the address too, don’t want another saxperience on our hands now do we?

Incidentally, two can play this game: Martin Leonard, 210 Lower Farnham Rd, Aldershot, GU12 4EN, United Kingdom 07949 636520 – the owner of the site. I might just contact Pipex about offensive materials and inciting hatred on a site they host. Might be worth it, haven’t shut a website down for months.

GAME redesigns again

UK retailer, and my former employer, GAME has redesigned its website again. This always upsets me because every redesign they do takes it further and further away from the GAME I worked on. What’s worse, everytime they redesign I actually like it. This time is no exception. Their new site is stunning, and it’s SEO friendly.

Yup, their inhouse developers, while not playing World of Warcraft or Star Wars games have done a stellar job yet again. Nice one Tony and the lads.

Check out the good work here: http://www.game.co.uk
