Hi ya,

I recently purchased an Ipad online at ebay. It was meant to be delivered on the 6th of september 2010, I sat at home all day. tracking the shipment online, and waiting. It was not delivered and I have checked on numerous occassions to ensure that no note was left either. Today morning that is the 7th of september, the website states that it was delivered on the 6th at 8:19 pm......... who the hell to. I did not answer the door, neither did anyone else in my family. I have not received the item, and they very coyly display that it has been delivered. This is as good as it being stollen by them. I have already placed a complaint with ebay and the seller who is a moron for using such a pathetic service, and if it is not resolved I shall definately take legal action. The amount of money I have spent is not small.

If you do have any information on anything I can do further, in the sense of actually getting the package, and not having to deal with a legal hassle please tell me.

Best wishes

Hi. I found your site quite by chance when trying to find HDNL depot number and this is why im online now waiting yet again for a parcel.
Its the fourth this year .They give a date tracking ect and dont turn up but my worst was this.........Tracked a parcel and said its was on the van so my wife stayed home my front door leads straight to the living room and my dog is in there too which barks at the gate opening. The delivery didnt turn up I by now am used to ringing there main number and they said there was no one in and a card was put through the letterbox. I assured them there wasnt and we were in and how sick of sick of this service we were.
The next day it arrived and the parcel man siad he was sorry for us not getting the delivery as he was off sick then how did he deliver the card.
Today I have phoned the main number and they said it was out for today but I know after the last 4 deliverys and there not so honest chat that it would be highly unlikely. I then phoned the depot as I have founfd the number online and immediatly explained that im not going through another day of this. so is the parcel out for delivery they said yes and 20 mins from me the depot is and YES , YES , YES theve gone and zoomed out with it and delivered it a few mins ago but a fight it was .I now know that if i must have a delivery from them this is what ill do. First phone the main number off the card 10 per min then phone the depot, sit in and hopefullly ive cracked it
I must say I dont hate any persons but I do hate this company.

I've had several parcels delivered by HDNL drivers over the past decade and never had a problem. I must admit that my son did get one (ONE) attempted delivery that was never attempted - the reserve driver could not find the address, but the problem was dealt with and the parcel arrived when they stated.
They work an average of 10 to 12 hour days and get the full brunt of any disgruntled person regardless of whether it is their (the driver) fault.

However, what I find unnecessary and unhelpful, is the disgusting language displayed by several people in this blog. If this blog is an example of how you (the person with a grievance) communicates with people when there is a problem, it is hardly surprising you will continue to have problems or claim to be and I quote "victim to some of the worst luck in the world ".
I notice that this website makes a claim that HDNL drivers are 'vulgar, idiotic and racist'. I find that claim offensive and even defamatory.

Had 2 parcels delivered by HDN

driver claims to have "hammered on the dood like" except i never heard him but heard the card posted through my letter box

1 parcel was big and bulky and very heavy, i get it dropped on my foot, 2nd smaller parcel contains 2 items and the more expensive of the 2 has been squashed and damaged

i get a obnoxious and arrogant felivery driver.

And HDN staff have the cheek to moan at reasons for complaining.

You get piss poor service when you got shopping are you happy, maybe i should work for currys and when u decide for example buy a dvd player or a ps3, say i threw it at you, would that be deemed acceptable service, or would just hiding in the warehouse and forgetting about you, amounts the same as to dropping something on my foot which is heavy or trying to pretend you came and being caught out

3 guesses why the delivery aspect is rated as poor as poor can be, marginally better than city link, which is enought really.

obnoxious staff

a company i hope never ever have to deal with again, appalling service. I think some couriers need a new career as they cant do the job at all. shocking shocking company.

I ordered a Sony 32" led from Amazon the other day and learned it was being delivered by HDNL. After reading all the horror stories on here I was becoming quite concerned regarding the safe delivery of my telly.
There was absolutely no cause for concern. Item was delivered from the Leeds depot this morning as promised. The driver was very polite and helpful, my parcel was stacked quite safely in the van. TV works perfectly well, wonder how many there are like me compared to unhappy customers. I feel sorry for those who have been badly treated, but all I can say is my experience was trouble free.

I'd like to add to the long list of dissatisfied customers. I ordered an item from Barratts a couple of weeks ago, have been tracking it and saw it go from the Wembley depot (makes sense, I live in London), to Droitwich, to Leeds. It was then apparently on a van from Leeds (this I thought rather strange, why would you drive it that far?) and eventually 'delivered'.

Except, it wasn't. My other half was waiting in on the day it was supposedly delivered, nothing. No sound at the door, no redelivery card, no parcel bunged outside. Checked with the neighbours, nothing.

Having read this and realising how useless HDNL customer services seem to be, I thought I'd go straight to Barratts and enquire. Less than a day later, they got back to me with this:

"After investigation I can confirm that our courier attempted delivery twice, both times this was refused at your address.

You order was therefore sent back to our Head Office.

I have issued you with a full refund; please allow 3-5 working days for this to show in your account.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused."

Props to them for sorting out a refund, but tried to deliver twice and 'refused'? What utter nonsense. Especially as the tracking site claimed the package was safely with 'the customer'. I'm wondering if they somehow did try to deliver it to somewhere in Leeds, considering that's where it was to start with. If not, I think it's the outright lying that annoys me most.

HDNL... dire indeed. Amazon order got to Leeds Depot on 12 August... should have been delivered next day to address 75 miles NE of Leeds. Kept looking to see the next steps... and the package was sent SOUTH, finally end up at Droitwich Depot, some 200 miles away! Still waiting. What a total shower this lot are... Amazon shoul dditch them forthwith... -Infinity out of 10!!

I have spent all week getting very frustrated thinking that I wouldnt be able to get hold of my parcel due to the limited information on the HDNL website.

However, thanks to the contact details posted by Manchester Customer I was this morning able to speak to an incredibly helpful guy at the Mitcham depot who has arranged to have my delivery left in a safe place on Monday.

All it takes is to have some real person contact details on their website and things become so much easier. So many of the problems reported seem to stem from the frustration at not being able to actually speak to somebody to ask for help in actually obtaining your parcel!
